A Weaver needs a Palette

A weaver needs a palette.

I’ve been so busy dyeing hanks of yarn for every project that my weaving gets behind. Although I enjoy it and it’s a way of getting great colours sometimes the colour isn’t quite right for the weft.

I was so pleased when I came across the boxed weavers palettes with Saori as it gave me choices and a selection that I had never had before. With piles of white and neutral yarns in my studio I won’t forget how to dye but it’s enjoyable having a palette of choice to work with…like a painters palette.

Living in country Australia I don’t often get the chance to browse and poke around a weaver’s yarn shop so my mini palettes work a bit like that. I don’t have to plan so much, just jump in with rash choices. However the planning in my brain isn’t far away and after sitting with my chosen palette I start to order and organise to make it all work.
