I love the smell of a new loom - any time of the day. I only have one that was brand new - three that's pre-loved. And how wonderful to see the wood that's going to be someone else's looms!!

I'm still curious to know which model this is - Eeva or Liisa? and is it the standard version or computer dobby? I can see you have a sectional warp beam, and is that two back beams? If so, I'd like to see how they fit on. I'd like a second beam on my Norjaana, but from discussions I have had with my supplier I might need to drill extra holes in the loom frame.

I quite agree about the beautiful wood of the Toika looms. I love mine. Seeing your photos, I think it may be slightly more golden in tone than when new. It's interesting to see the Toika wood stack - that's where my own loom came from, something like 12 years ago. It's a lot of wood there, many more lovely looms to-be.

Thanks Leigh and Katherine. I'm happy to say that the loom doesn't keep me up and night and I won't have to send it to university so I'm ahead on the comparison to a new baby! although I guess it isn't as cute or cuddly.

Congratulations on your new loom! It's an event almost as important as a new baby.

You're the one who deserves the thanks, Kaz! I was delighted to participate and excited with what I learned. Yes, I'm definitely going to use the red painted warp too, and I have other ideas brewing in my head as well!
