Rustle weaves

These new weaves hot of the loom are my ‘rustle’ series. Woven from fine linen and hand dyed Japanese paper the fabric rustles as you wear it like taffeta.

I’ve also dyed a shibori effect to weather the weave and I’m so happy with them. I haven’t woven with linen much before except with a cotton blend such as cottolin. Many weaving books say that linen is difficult to weave with and you must do this and that, so I’ve avoided it because I’m not so sure about doing this and that. But this was all quite straightforward even though the paper warp did present some challenges to patience!

That is beautiful! I wish there is a feel and hear button. I am glad that the linen is not hard to work with. I have some that is on my list of fibres to try!

Quite beautiful! I do love the way the paper yarn meanders in and out through the linen and the tone on tone colours. I was intrigued to see what you were planning for the linen warp as it is one of my favourite fibres.
