Formulae Absent

Workshop 2 complete! Or is it? We discovered no formulas to success, being creative or excellent. It was so good. The weaves were extraordinary and the company…strangers meeting up over threads…what can I say.

I’ve noticed that the most popular how to books on anything include a definitive bullet point list to success. We humans seem to like formulas for seeking success, and impressing and excluding others.  I try hard to remember bullet points, knowing that the first sign of failure is a failure to know.

Well, I didn’t come up with any formulas that I can remember at these workshops except it’s invigorating to share threads, twist and distort them, colour them,  laugh and muddle through with what ifs and eat cake.  The creations were amazing and explored what I thought were deep aspects of each participant’s experiences and approach.  I’m humbled once again by the workshop experience and very grateful to the workshop 2 participants. Andrew’s work is pictured here with more to come!

No. Artistic backdrop of Taree Art Gallery studio cement floor pre-splattered with paint! Not a bad idea though.
