I can't tell you how many times I've signed up for workshops, only to not come back after the first or second time because the workshop leader's approach resembled that of an primary school teacher, who talked to the "class" as if they were a bunch of dull-witted 8 year olds. Adults should not talk down to other adults, even if they are new to a certain skill, for the very reasons you point out in this, your latest post.
