Winter Saori Weavers

Winter really gets the weaving fingers ready. Spending the day in a warm place with a warp can’t get much better- can it?

Some of my weavers are returning again and it’s interesting that they are weaving with entirely different colours to before but still managing their hues like pros. We’ve had a couple of table runners woven, two bags, wall hangings and cowls in progress. There’s custom warping and threading which is very exciting too.

Katie H. wove a lovely all blue mix runner and used a fancy knotted fringing to finish off which really made the weave stand out. Another Katie wove a landscape textile image as a hanging and her grandmother completed a table runner and bag in a few sessions. That’s the thing with the freedom Saori weaving offers, a variety of textile designs and ideas for a real mix of completed projects and ideas. The mind can go where it wants…for a few hours anyway.
