Speedy Saori? What’s happening?

What’s happening? Is it climate change, something in the water, or just plain May motivation? I don’t know but the weavers through my workshops lately have been really going for it. At first I put it down to a group which all knew each other and being so comfortable were able to weave much more without that settling in period when you do something new. Especially when its only for a day. But no, this group didn’t know each other and did the same thing. Maybe it’s the phases of the moon.

Each new weaver completed a 1.8-2.0 metre length for a scarf and one participant also completed a second very light scarf which took less time to weave. So we’re pumping out the handwoven textiles here. Not that quantity is important at all but I was still surprised at the determination of each new weaver to reach such a goal in a one day program. Totally achievable! A totally great day in the Old Bar perfectness that Autumn and Winter are. Special thanks to the participants who brightened the studio with ideas and out loud creative thinking! Jo, Nina, Belinda and Celeste!
