Saori – Beginning to Explore….nearly
My delay in posting has been for good reason. A wonderful trip to Japan including a weeks weave workshop at Saori, then my daughter with a broken ankle (**Big thank you to Canterbury Hospital**). See more about my Japan adventure with Amanda on her blog. She’s miles ahead of me in the posting up game! But I have so much to write about weaving, especially for new weavers. See on the left a photo of me outside Saori head office in Osaka.
Ouch! Look forward to her recovery and your posting.
Do tell all when you can. We in the Bay of Plenty, NZ, are being offered a workshop on Saori by Terri Bibby http://www.saorisaltspring.com in February next year and I had pretty much decided I wouldn’t go, being an “experienced” weaver. Would love to hear your thoughts from your travels.
Hi Dianne, Much more to tell! soon!
Meg, Yes it was “ouch” but things can always be worse. We used your introductory letter with a weaver from Okinawa. Thanks for helping us out.
My sympathies to your daughter – I broke my ankle in March – not a fun time. But the dr and physiotherapist were agreed – weaving on a foot powered loom was the best therapy for a good recovery. 😀 If she doesn’t weave yet, she may decide to start???
Cheers,
Laura
Dianne – I had woven for 25 years before discovering Saori – and now I see endless possibilities with it. Let me know if you’d like to discuss more – it would be great to see you at the workshop.
Kaz – sorry about your daughter’s broken ankle. Love seeing your photos of Japan and look forward to hearing more.
Happy Weaving,
Terri
