Japan Textiles 2019

Our textile tour with Intentionally Different Travel is running again in November this year.  After a successful 2018 tour with Valerie Kirk, I’d like to invite interested textile, arts and cultural travellers to join us in November.

Join us in Japan.

The itinerary includes several hands on workshops including to Saori no Mori where we’ll meet the extraordinary Kenzo Jo.

We’ll travel across Japan to Kanazawa and deep within the mountains to see incredible silk production continuing as it has over the centuries.  Kyoto, the ancient city, is a highlight and you’ll meet many well known artisans in their studios and more.  This tour has a mix of everything and goes well beyond the cities to rural Japan where you’ll meet traditional ways and architecture within mountainous beauty and see outstanding craft and textile skills along the way.

Serene beauty is in everything.

This tour is a study tour and comprehensive notes and information will be provided to create a better understanding and enjoyment of the astounding skills we will encounter. This trip will leave you captivated and inspired! See here for further tour information or contact Kaz Madigan. See a brochure here.
