Winter is here. So buttons are needed to put on that extra layer of clothing. These little buttons were a snap to make with some left over handwovens. I bought the extra large size metal bases from Tessuti Fabric in Surry Hills, Sydney. As the fabric was a little thick, I dampened it all to stretch over the button base and it covered better than I expected.

I make buttons all the time. It’s such a great thing to do with end-of-the-warp bits and pieces–much better than having little pieces of fabric pile up in random baskets.

These look fantastic, I love buttons and what a wonderful way of making some weaving influence and enhance many creations.
