I’m excited to be off to Yarrawonga in Victoria at the end of the week for a Saori and warp painting/ easy ikat workshop. I’ll be travelling with the little Saori piccolo – all stylishly bagged for the plane and ready to weave on. Not a bad advertisement for the convenience of a travelling foot powered loom!
I’ve never been to Yarrawonga before so it makes it an adventure as well. There are so many nice places in Australia. It’s easy to relax in our country towns and we have the best food in the world (No, I don’t think this is overstating it :)). Of course the participants and myself will be ‘working’ hard at weaving and enjoying tactile sensations over the weekend so I’ll get to soak up their creative energy which is the best part. Special thanks to Dianne McNamara whose incredible energy and can do approach is making this happen.
