When little designers grow up

Guess what? A little potential designer that I taught in my studio years ago as a young girl has all grown up – into a designer. And a textile designer at that. Chela Edmunds, now living in New York, is developing lovely designs, and knowing that she started to weave so young gives me so much confidence about the way textiles are going and their safe and creative future.

Chela has created a fabric screen with felt and the full instructions for this window textile are here.

I’m thinking that this could be done with handwoven fabric perhaps using fabric stiffener or a buckram sandwiched between two discs of fabric.
